THE HISTORY OF MISSION POSSIBLE
In May of 2014, Career Gear Houston launched a veteran transitional series, Mission Possible. The first year of Mission Possible was proudly granted by The United Way of Greater Houston and proved to be a worthy and sound investment. We were granted to complete employment transition to 75 veterans in that first year. Mission Possible more than doubled its reach and service offering by successfully serving 147 transitioning veterans and their families. Of those who received services, 57 were employed at 3 months and 89 at 6 months. Mission Possible had another record breaking year in 2015, serving 221 transitioning veterans and achieving a 72% employment rate. Mission Possible has become a staple programmatic offering for Career Gear. Year to Date, we have had 234 veterans complete Mission Possible! Our Veterans deserve the support of the community as they make their transition into the freedoms they have defended for us all.
