Donate a Tax-deductible Financial Contribution

Here are several ways you can help us achieve our goals this year.  You can select the option that best matches your donation strategy.

Keep the Lights On!

While donated suits and accessories are vital to our operation and enable us to help our clients in the employment process, we always need monetary donations for our day-to-day operations to keep our doors open – to pay for rent, lights, phones, and other general offices expenses.

Your donation of $25 will be used towards critical day-to-day operational needs for our organization. To make a secure online contribution, please click on the Donate icon below.

Suit It Up!

When we have appropriate attire for an upcoming job interview, we feel confident and poised for the appointment.  Every client desires the chance to look and feel ready to ace this part of the job search. We receive many clean, contemporary suits, but typically we do not receive the larger-sized suits in sizes 48 and up.  So unfortunately, we then have had to turn away the larger-sized client due to limited inventory in these bigger sizes.

You can help us “suit up” our larger-sized clients by donating specifically to purchase suits in the larger sizes such as sizes 48 and larger. Your contribution will enable us to purchase suit, shirt, and belt for the big and tall-sizes.

With one of their first critical steps in the employment process – the interview outfit, your contribution of $100 will make a difference for these clients. To make a secure online contribution, please click on the Donate icon below.

Tie It Down!

In conjunction with the Tie Drive at your business or organization, we ask for a donation of $5 to help replenish our inventory of socks, belts and shoes.  Typically, we receive limited donations of these items and usually can not provide these amenities especially for our larger-sized clients.  They are the finishing touch for the interview outfit and vital for the completion of the suiting experience.
Your contribution of $5 will help to complete the interview ensemble with the purchase of these important accessories.  To make a secure online contribution, please click on the Donate icon below and thank you for your generous support.

Give a Tax-Deductible In-Kind Donation

Let’s face it – clothing and personal appearance make a huge difference in the business world.  A professional look is a real self-esteem booster and promotes confidence, dignity and self-worth.  When we feel good about how we look, we create a positive impression and communicate our readiness to the world of work.

Our clients are able to make a positive impression and communicate their readiness for the world of work through your in-kind donation of contemporary, gently-used business suits, sports jackets, dress pants, business shirts, ties, belts and shoes.  These items will be used in the transformation of our clients taking them through their interview appointment and ultimately into successful employment.

Other In-kind items needed:

  • New socks

  • New underwear

  • New steel-toed boots

  • Toiletry kits

  • Shoe shine kits

For specific drop off times, please contact the offices at 713.778.9959 for details.

Sponsor Clothing Drive

Through the generosity of clothing companies such as The Men’s Warehouse and from our national organization, a portion of the clothing we provide our clients is new.  We receive the majority of inventory through in-kind donations of gently-used, contemporary business attire through the local community from individuals and group-sponsored suit drives.

Our clients are able to make a positive impression and communicate their readiness for the world of work through your in-kind donation of contemporary, gently-used business suits, sports jackets, dress pants, business shirts, ties, belts and shoes.  These items will be used in the transformation of our clients from assistance to self-sufficiency through their interview and ultimately successful employment.

Assist with an Upcoming Fundraising Event

Our annual fundraising, 2nd Annual Career Gear Golf Day event will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Kingwood Country Club in Kingwood, Texas.  All the funds go directly to assist the clients through our services and programs.

Volunteer Your Time and Talents

You can make a difference right now.  In tough economic times, nonprofits experience an increase in the demand for services. All of our clients are actively looking for employment and very determined to make a better life for themselves and their families.
We have a small core staff of dedicated individuals responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency. Volunteers assist the staff in carrying out its mission and goals of the organization.  We know the need for our programs and services will increase throughout this economically-challenging year and you can become part of the CGH family.

Right now, we need volunteers who have time and talents in the following areas:

  • Provide support with everyday office operations such as answer phones, fax, data entry, and greet customers.
  • Help schedule client appointment and/or serve as a personal valet to suit clients
  • Contribute to grant writing with writing/editing/research skills
  • Maintain and restock inventory
  • Pickup donated inventory from suiting drives, businesses, and individuals; volunteer must have own transportation, can lift up to 30lbs, and has a very flexible schedule.
  • Provide public relations/editing support for new website, outreach materials and media connections for to promote awareness for CHG
  • Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings or other beneficial business networking meetings on behalf of CGH
  • Assist with pre-activities and/or the day of our annual fundraiser golf event to be held at Kingwood Country Club on Friday, October 9, 2009

If you are interested in learning about the many ways you can volunteer, please call Donna Reasonover, Executive Director at 713.778.9959 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
